Weeks 1–2
Pain
Stop the spinning.
Positional testing finds the cause, and if it is BPPV, repositioning treatment starts right there on the table.
What We Treat
The room moves when you roll over, and the rest of the day never quite settles. It is treatable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation that finds out which part of the system is misfiring.

Why It Happens
Dizziness is not one condition. The most common cause is loose crystals in the inner ear, called BPPV: they shift when your head moves, and your balance system reads it as spinning. Other times it is an inner ear that stopped sending an even signal, a stiff and guarded neck, or eyes and inner ear that have fallen out of sync.
Those feel almost identical from the inside, and they are treated differently. A cause-first evaluation sorts them out: your head gets moved into specific positions while somebody watches your eyes for the answer. BPPV in particular often responds quickly to repositioning treatment, once it has been confirmed as BPPV. Waiting it out, or a generic set of exercises off the internet, leaves that on the table.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent look like for dizziness and vertigo.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Positional testing finds the cause, and if it is BPPV, repositioning treatment starts right there on the table.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Gaze and head-motion drills rebuild the signal your inner ear has been sending late.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Busy aisles, quick turns and looking up get practiced on purpose, until your head stops flagging them.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
You leave able to spot a flare early and settle it yourself: that’s the endpoint, not another appointment.
Excellent service provided by the facility and the professional staff that work there.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and in California you can start with a licensed physical therapist without a referral. Most vertigo comes from the inner ear, and that is found by moving your head into specific positions and watching your eyes, not by a scan. Some warning signs do belong with a physician, and we screen for them at your evaluation. If we see one, we will tell you and help you get to the right place.
Some of them will, briefly, and that is how they work. Your balance system only recalibrates when you give it the motion it has been avoiding. A licensed physical therapist doses it so you feel it and then settle, instead of losing your whole afternoon. Nothing gets added faster than you can handle.
You get a plan with an endpoint, not an open tab of appointments. BPPV often responds quickly to repositioning treatment, so some plans are short and mostly about making sure it stays gone. Dizziness from an inner ear that needs retraining takes longer and moves through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent. You will hear which one you are looking at, and what finishing looks like, at your evaluation.
