Our commitment to making this site usable for everyone, what we’ve done, and how to reach us if something isn’t working for you.

Our commitment.

Jewel Physical Therapy wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website to learn about our care, find a location, and request an appointment. We’ve worked to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard most commonly used to measure digital accessibility.

What we’ve done.

This site was built and then reviewed specifically for accessibility. That work included:

  • A skip link, landmark structure (header, navigation, main content, footer), and a single, correctly ordered heading on every page
  • Descriptive alt text on every meaningful photo, including staff and treatment photos, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
  • Keyboard access to every menu, form, and interactive feature, including a full keyboard test of the appointment request form and the free benefits check form
  • Visible, high-contrast focus outlines on every interactive element, tuned separately for our light and dark sections
  • Form fields with real labels, clear error messages that are announced to screen readers, and correct autocomplete for name, phone, email and address fields
  • Text and background color combinations checked against WCAG’s minimum contrast ratios, with several colors adjusted where they fell short
  • Support for reduced-motion browser and operating system settings, so scroll and hover animations can be turned off
  • Pages that remain readable and usable with JavaScript turned off, including the appointment form and every FAQ answer

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time fix. We review this site periodically and after any significant update.

Known limitations.

A few parts of this site load content from other companies, and we cannot fully control their accessibility:

  • Google reviews widget (Elfsight). The scrolling reviews feed on our home and testimonials pages is a third-party embed. If it’s difficult to use with your assistive technology, every review it shows is also public on our Google Business Profile, linked directly next to the widget.
  • Google Maps embed. The interactive map on our location and contact sections is provided by Google. Our full address, phone number, and a “get directions” link are always provided as plain text and links alongside it.

If you have trouble accessing any part of this website, or a form, page, or feature doesn’t work with your assistive technology, please tell us. We aim to respond within 5 business days and will work with you to get you the information or service you need another way in the meantime.
