We map the area that actually hurts.
Acoustic waves through the skin: no needles, no medication, no downtime. For the pain that has stopped answering everything else you have tried.
What It Is
StemWave is a branded non-invasive acoustic wave device. A handpiece moves over the painful area with gel between it and your skin, and acoustic waves pass through into the tissue underneath. Nothing is injected. Nothing is cut. Nothing is prescribed.
People ask how it differs from shockwave therapy. Both send acoustic waves into tissue, both through the skin, both with a handpiece. The difference is the device and the delivery: shockwave is aimed hard and narrow at one stubborn tendon, while StemWave is applied more broadly across the area that hurts and is usually the easier of the two to sit through. Neither is the better tool in the abstract. Which one fits depends on what your evaluation finds, and you will be told plainly which we think it is.
What makes people ask for this one by name is what it does not cost them. No needle. No prescription. No recovery time and no day written off afterwards. You get up, you go back to work, you drive home. It is for pain that has stopped answering the things that used to help, and it runs inside a plan built on a cause-first evaluation, not instead of one.
Nothing enters the skin

Most people describe a firm tapping or pulsing over the area, and most find it easy to sit through. Some spots are tender, and if one of yours is, we turn it down or move on. Nothing enters your skin, you are told what is coming before it starts, and you can ask us to stop at any point.
They are different devices with a different delivery, and both send acoustic waves through the skin. Shockwave is focused hard and narrow on one stubborn tendon, usually a tendon that has outlasted rest. StemWave is applied more broadly over the area that hurts and is usually the easier session of the two. Neither is better than the other in the abstract. After a cause-first evaluation, a licensed physical therapist will tell you plainly which one fits your problem, and will say so if neither does.
That depends on your plan. Acoustic wave treatment is coded differently than a standard therapy visit, and plans do not all treat it the same way. We check your exact benefits before your first session, so nothing lands on your bill that you did not agree to. Questions before then? Call us at (818) 341-3791.
