Weeks 1–2
Pain
Feel steady standing still.
Hands-on work eases the stiff ankles, hips and neck that have been feeding your body bad information.
What We Treat
Unsteady is not just age, and it is not something you have to plan your whole day around. It starts with a cause-first evaluation that finds out why your balance changed, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Balance is three systems working at once: your inner ear, your eyes, and what your feet and joints feel. When one of them goes quiet, the other two work overtime. Add hips and ankles that lost strength, and a stride that got shorter after the first scare, and steady turns into careful.
Which system slipped matters, because the fix for each one is different. That is what a cause-first evaluation is for: somebody watches you walk, turn, stand and reach, then tests each system on purpose. A general stretching sheet cannot tell them apart. Resting more makes all three of them weaker.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent look like for balance and walking.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on work eases the stiff ankles, hips and neck that have been feeding your body bad information.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Ankle, foot and hip motion comes back, so your base can react to the floor instead of freezing on it.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Turning, stepping off a curb, walking while looking around: practiced on purpose until they stop being events.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
You leave with a short home routine and a plan for the harder days: that’s the endpoint, not another appointment.
Nice staff and good Physical Therapists. Small place, never crowded. They have all equipment… Easy to communicate with them.

Questions, Answered
Usually not. California lets you start with a licensed physical therapist without a referral. Your first visit is a cause-first evaluation: somebody watches how you walk, stand, turn and reach, then tests the systems that keep you upright. If anything we find belongs with your physician, we will say so plainly and help you get there.
That fear is information, not weakness. We work inside your safe range, with a licensed physical therapist beside you and something to hold when you need it. The hard things stay hard on purpose, but they get added in an order your legs can handle. Avoiding movement is what makes the next stumble more likely, not less.
You get a plan with an endpoint, not an open tab of appointments. Balance work moves through the four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent, and each phase has something you can feel: standing steadier, turning without holding on, walking without watching the floor. At your evaluation you will hear how long your plan is expected to run and what has to be true to finish it.
