What It Is

Thin needles. Mapped points. Your call.

Acupuncture places very fine needles at mapped points on the body. They stay in for a few minutes while you rest. Most people feel a dull heaviness, a little warmth, or nothing much at all.

The needles are far thinner than the ones used for injections or a blood draw. That is why the question people arrive with, does it hurt, usually answers itself in the first minute. Nothing happens until we have walked you through it.

We will be measured about where it fits. Acupuncture is offered alongside your plan for pain and musculoskeletal symptoms, never instead of one. The cause-first evaluation still comes first, and the hands-on work and the exercise still do the heavy lifting. This is an option, not a shortcut.

Questions, Answered

Acupuncture, no mystery.

Acupuncture needles are far thinner than the needles used for injections or a blood draw. Most people feel little to nothing as one goes in. You may notice a dull heaviness or warmth around the point. If anything feels uncomfortable, say so and it comes straight out.

Here is the honest answer. It helps some people with pain and muscle tension, and it does very little for others. That is exactly why we offer it alongside a plan rather than instead of one. If it is not helping you, we say so and put that time somewhere better.

That depends on your plan, and acupuncture is treated differently than a standard visit. We check your exact benefits before your first session, so nothing on your bill is a surprise. Questions before then? Call us at (818) 341-3791.
