We check what changed since last visit.
A printed sheet of exercises is not a plan. This is the right movement, at the right dose, changed every time you get stronger.
What It Is
Therapeutic exercise is prescribed movement. Chosen for the tissue that is failing, loaded heavy enough to change it, light enough that you can still do it tomorrow.
That last part is why the sheet you were handed did nothing. Ten exercises, the same ten for every back in the building, no progression, nobody watching your form. Movement that is not dosed is just movement.
Here every exercise comes out of your cause-first evaluation and gets rechecked as you improve. Too easy and the tissue never adapts. Too hard and you flare and lose a week. You have been busy holding everything else up, so we keep the home program short enough to survive a real day.
Rechecked and changed as you improve
What It Helps
These get better when the right muscle gets stronger, in the right order, at the right weight.
What A Session Looks Like
1
We check what changed since last visit.
2
You work, and we watch every rep.
3
The dose goes up, and so does the home program.
Why It Works
Strength you notice outside the clinic.
A home program short enough to actually do.
Harder every week, because you got better.
A finish line instead of open-ended visits.
Pairs Well With
Questions, Answered
Working hard is not the same as hurting. You should feel effort in the muscle, and it should settle within a day. Sharp pain, or an ache that spreads and lingers, is information rather than something to push through. Tell us and we change the dose, not the goal.
Because somebody is choosing them and then changing them. A generic sheet is the same for every body and never gets harder. Yours comes out of a cause-first evaluation, you do it one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, and it gets heavier as you do. That is the whole difference between exercise and therapeutic exercise.
Therapeutic exercise is a core part of a physical therapy plan of care, and most insurance plans cover it. We check your exact plan before your first session, so nothing on the bill is a surprise. Questions before then? Call us at (818) 341-3791.
